When I starting think of what I wanted to draw for the cover The Tokyoiter, Hanami (Cherry blooming) period was just around the corner and it was in everyone's mind. The other subject, that I was on my mind a lot at the time, was how Japanese people put much pride and time into their hobbies. In the end, I took these two cultures, tradition one and modern one and juxtapose them to make hopefully an enjoyable image to look at.
