When I first saw a sumo match at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, I experienced a mystical atmosphere that was different from everyday life. The large, robotic wrestlers, their shiny skin in the spotlight, the colourful Mawashi (belt), the audience packed into the seats. I illustrated the sacred and lively scene of the event.
